The major European manufacturers of sodium hypochlorite (NaClO) have joined efforts for their REACH compliance activities and have launched in February 2009 the Sodium Hypochlorite REACH consortium following one year of preparatory work.

Consortium description
The members of the consortium have agreed to collaborate under the leadership of Arkema France in the preparation of a joint registration dossier for sodium hypochlorite as required by the REACH regulation. The substance shall be registered by December 2010. The Sodium Hypochlorite REACH consortium consists of a Steering Committee, Executive Committee and Technical Committee. The consortium will be administered by ReachCentrum.

The consortium is open to any European or non-European manufacturers, importers and only representatives as defined in the REACH Regulation and includes any Affiliates who also have an interest in registering the substance.
