Calcium Chloride REACH consortium
The manufacturers of Calcium Chloride have joined efforts for their REACH compliance activities and have launched the Calcium Chloride REACH consortium.
Consortium description
To prepare a consistent REACH registration dossier, the secretariat of the Calcium Chloride consortium will be handled by ReachCentrum.
The consortium members span over a large spectrum of the European chemicals industry and include members from ESAPA - the European Soda Ash Producers Association. Calcium chloride is produced by several processes including the Ammonia-Soda process and reaction of limestone with hydrochloric acid among other methods. Calcium chloride finds use in a vast number of applications within many industry and consumer sectors. The member companies already own quite a bit of the information needed. They have been working together and have already completed a data gap analysis, a draft CSR and a draft Technical dossier.

Membership
The Calcium Chloride REACH consortium structure includes a Steering Committee, a Technical Committee and the consortium secretariat managed by ReachCentrum. The Calcium Chloride consortium is open to manufacturers/ importers/ only representatives as defined in the REACH Regulation of the substance on its own, in preparations or in articles and that are subject to the registration requirements pursuant to the REACH Regulation, or Affiliates thereof. Membership is open to any applicant fulfilling the membership criteria. Downstream users and other data holders are invited to play an active role in the work of the consortium.
