IP REACH consortium
The IP REACH consortium has been established by Inorganic Phosphates manufacturers. The Secretariat of the Inorganic Phosphates consortium is contracted to ReachCentrum.
Consortium description
The consortium for REACH Registration of Inorganic Phosphates - the IP REACH consortium - was established in November 2008, following one year of preparatory work, as announced on the ECHA website during the Pre-Registration phase.
Substances
The IP REACH consortium covers a range of inorganic phosphates (around 40 substances) including:
- sodium,
- potassium,
- calcium,
- iron,
- magnesium,
- manganese,
- copper,
- fluoride boron,
- aluminium zinc phosphates.
This consortium does not cover Sodium Tri Poly Phosphate (STPP), for which a separate consortium - the STPP REACH consortium - has already been established. Phosphoric acid and a number of fertiliser phosphates are not covered by the IP REACH consortium, but by the FARM consortium. Zinc phosphates are covered not by IP but well by the ZincReach consortium. The IP REACH consortium is cooperating with these and other consortia to optimise data exchange and read-across.
All companies or organisations having available studies, data or other information potentially relevant to the above substances are invited to make this known to the IP REACH consortium.
Membership
The IP REACH consortium was established by six European manufacturers of one or more of the above substances. This consortium is open to manufacturers/ importers/ only representatives as defined in the REACH Regulation of one or more of the consortium substances, on their own, in preparations or in articles, and who are subject to the registration requirements pursuant to the REACH Regulation, or Affiliates thereof, according to the conditions defined in the Consortium Agreement.
